Work Zone Safety: Everybody's Responsibility

April 9-13 is National Work Zone Awareness Week. Work Zone Awareness Week is an annual spring campaign held to bring national attention to motorist and worker safety in roadway construction zones.

According to statistics, 683 fatal crashes occurred in work zones nationwide in 2016. Many crashes in work zones are caused by motorists speeding and driving distracted. Drivers often ignore the orange advisory signs and approach work zones far too fast.

Metzger Wickersham would like to remind all motorists to put their phones down, obey posted signs, and stay alert when traveling through work zones, this week, and every day of the year!
