Motorcyclist Killed in I-81 Crash Involving Truck

Police have released the name of a motorcyclist who died in a crash early Monday morning, October 16, 2017 on Interstate 81. The Cumberland County crash happened around 3 AM, just south of the Plainfield exit.

According to state police, John Baum, 56, was traveling in the southbound lanes when the front driver’s side of a tractor-trailer struck the back of his Harley Davidson. Baum and his passenger, Lori Radnor, 58, were both thrown from the motorcycle.

Baum died at the scene and Radnor was treated at Geisinger-Holy Spirit Hospital for moderate injuries. The truck driver was not injured.
